An immersive sound installation from Magnetic Sound® comprised of two resonating sculptures positioned on opposite sides of the listening space.

An evolving source of sound creates an environment conducive to reflection, contemplation, or meditation.

Headphones with spoken-word recordings are available upon entry to the exhibition, offering an optional introduction to deep breathing for a relaxation response.

Generative: Infinite Sound

These compositions are 'generative', meaning that the software create new, unique harmonies each time the artwork is activated.

Sound as a Mandala

The intention of this installation is to offer sound + guidance to help participants move into a meditative experience.

Similar to the way that a breath or chant is a center of focus in many Eastern meditation traditions, the soundscapes function as a template for deep listening to elicit a relaxation response.

Participant Experience Flow:

Group Dialogue

Visitors are greeted + briefed one group at a time, similar to a standard tour or museum exhibit entry.

Scan QR Code, Listen In

Participants invited to borrow headphones and scan QR code to load a spoken-word recording which will guide them through the experience.

Verbal Guide on Phone

After scanning the QR code, a webpage with the 4-minute audio recording opens on participants’ phone.

This recording introduces participants to the artwork, and offers optional guidance in breathwork for relaxation and body-scan meditations.

Entering the Space

Upon entering the space, participants view wall-mounted artwork generating slow, repetitive tranquil sounds.

Other participants are already in the room, and newcomers find an open mat (or additional seats, depending on architecture)

Engaging in Meditation

The headphone recording plays for a duration of 4 minutes. At the end of playback, the verbal guide encourages participant to remove headphones and continue deep breathing and listening.

Some participants will choose to exit after a few minutes, and some participants will choose to remain in the experience one or two hours
